Stay Jazzed motivational conference set for nonprofit professionals PDF Print E-mail

It is common in the post holiday winter months to find yourself in a lull of monotony. The Siouxland Nonprofit Management Alliance (SNMA) offers an opportunity for nonprofit professionals to revive their spirit and focus their productivity.

 

The Stay Jazzed Conference, to be held Tuesday, February 26, 2008, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Marina Inn in South Sioux City, Neb., is an all day motivational conference designed to help those working in the nonprofit field discover new ways to motivate themselves and others in the workplace. Although it is designed for the nonprofit workforce, everyone is welcome to attend.

 

Stay Jazzed

This year's Stay Jazzed Conference brings in two dynamic, high-powered speakers: Amy Dee-Kristensen and Cy Wakeman.

The event’s keynote speaker, Amy Dee-Kristensen, motivates and inspires her audience to create their best life by engaging their unique strengths, harnessing power attitude and developing positive coping and communication skills.  Dee-Kristensen’s hilarious and engaging style will leave attendees energized and ready to make it happen.

 

Amy’s 18 years of professional speaking experience includes founding a prosperous company in Scandinavia while living in Norway, developing successful life strategies as a psych nurse, and grappling with the exciting challenge of family life. 

Cy Wakeman will offer the workshop Thriving in Changing Times were she will address how change is becoming a key competitive advantage for organizations. In this program, participants will learn key models and techniques for transforming their organization into a change-seeking machine.

 

Wakeman has a unique background, which combines four successful business start-ups with 20 years of working and consulting in a variety of arenas. Wakeman has personally led strategic planning efforts, culture change initiatives, ERP implementations, talent management system design and implementations and succession planning projects.

 

Cost for participants registering before Friday, Feb. 8 is $75.  After Friday, Feb. 9 the fee is $85. A continental breakfast and lunch are included. Six social work continuing education credits (CEUs) are offered for the conference through Iowa State University for an additional $10. Registration deadline is Tuesday, Feb. 19.
