Leading with Wisdom: An Exploration of the Feminine with Margaret Wheatley & Susan Skjei

March 14 - 16

Many spiritual traditions contain strong feminine archetypes who wield powerful energies—not all of them peaceful! Exploring this primordial feminine energy can help us get in touch with our deepest motivations as leaders, such as protecting life, thinking about future generations, focusing on relationships, building community and taking care of our children. Living in an era characterized by aggression, self-interest, competition and environmental destruction, we
can begin the process of restoring balance by accessing this primordial wisdom.
Join us as we examine these archetypes across traditions and at play in the world arena today. We will draw particularly from the Five Wisdom Energies teaching from the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. Discover how as women we can embody these energies to provide the leadership so needed at this time.

Margaret Wheatley, EdD, writes, teaches and speaks about innovative practices and ideas for leaders navigating in chaotic times. She asks us to attend to the quality of our relationships to weather increasing global turbulence, because whatever the problem, community is the answer. Margaret is cofounder and president emerita of The Berkana Institute, a charitable global foundation serving life-affirming leaders around the world. Her newest book, Finding Our Way: Leadership for an Uncertain Time, is a collection of her practice-focused writings, where she describes both the organizational and personal behaviors that bring her theories to life. Margaret also authored Leadership and the New Science, Turning to One Another: Simple Conversations to Restore Hope to the Future and A Simpler Way (with Myron Kellner-Rogers). She is the creator of the Women's Leadership Revival Tour, currently underway in the United States and Canada.

Susan Skjei is president of SaneSystems, a consulting firm specializing in leadership coaching and organizational transformation. Formerly a vice president and chief learning officer in the high-tech industry, she has over 25 years' experience designing and facilitating participative approaches to strategic planning and cultural change for business, nonprofit and community organizations. A senior teacher in the Shambhala Buddhist tradition, Susan has taught meditation programs in the United States, Canada and Europe. She is also the director of the Authentic Leadership program at Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado, and a founding member of the Shambhala Institute in Nova Scotia, Canada.
